About this Short Course

Course Fee: $3104 (Parts A & C only)

This course framework require the candidate to enrol into three parts, as the course structure can take up to 12 months to complete

PART A - Context Gap Training (2 weeks)
PART B - Open Registration / Cabling License Course (5 weeks Part time)
 PART C - Final assessment (4 days)​​

This course provides Minimum Australian Context Gap training

  •  to holders of an Offshore Technical Skills Record (OTSR) will be provided a Statement of Attainment to present to the e RTO responsible for the issuing of the Offshore Technical Skills Record (OTSR), together with the evidence of sufficient workplace experience and performance (eProfiling), it will trigger the issuance of the national qualification UEE30807 Certificate III in Electrotechnology - Electrician.
  • To holders of a Trades Recognition Australia, Challenger Institute of Technology will issue a Certificate III in Electrotechnology - Electrician , to the candidate.

Short Course Content

PART A
Electrical Context Gap Training Course (2 weeks)

  • You will undertake your 2 week gap training involving theory and practical assessments throughout this course to meet Australian Standards
  • You will be required to participate in a half day First Aid Course during your class attendance (HLTAID001 Provide Cardiopulmonary​ Resuscitation
  • An E-profiling account will be registered for you upon enrolment and you will be required to record your on the job experiences and be signed off by your nominated workplace supervisor. This is a requirement up to 12 months - maximum training

  • Pearsons - Electrical Trade Principles and Practices - 3rd Edition twin pack  

​PART B - YU04 AND A123 - Open Registration / Cabling License Course

PART C - Final Assessment (no additional charge)
  • Your E-profiling must be complete 100% and job cards must be signed off by your  employer
  • This Final Assessment goes over 4 days and - involves Workshop and Theory testing

 

Additional Requirements

Prerequisite

Two letters are required from Energy Safety before and enrolment can proceed which must be provided to the Commercial Course Coordinator upon enrolment

Letter one - Authorisation letter stating which course the OTSR or TRA candidate should enrol in

  • Energy Safety Letter - Offshore Technical Skills Record (OTSR) - Challenger Institute issues a Statement of Attainment ONLY and the candidate will forward their certified documentation to their designated OTSR assessor who will issue the Certificate
  • Energy Safety Letter- Trades Recognition Australia (TRA) - Challenger Institute issues a Certificate III in Electrotechnology - Electrician to the candidate

Letter two - A letter for Provisional Licence
