This qualification will further develop your practical skills and knowledge to apply the full range of face and body treatments. You will learn skills in a broad range of beauty therapy treatments and services which may include facial massage, body massage, hair removal, cosmetic tattooing, spa treatments, lash and brow treatments, nail technology services, make-up, aromatherapy, providing advice on beauty treatments and services, selling retail skin care and cosmetic products and coordinating a work team. The knowledge and skills gained can be applied in the beauty salons, spas and the wider beauty industry.

This qualification consists of practical skills and knowledge to apply a full range of face and body treatments.  You will learn skills in a broad range of beauty therapy treatments and services that include facials, advanced facials, body massage, waxing, lash and brow treatments, make-up, aromatherapy and skills in retail and sales.

Students will be provided with product training by industry specialists and learn about the latest beauty industry trends that enable students to work towards successful employment opportunities.

As part of this qualification students have the opportunity to apply the skills learnt in our beauty therapy clinic located in Fremantle and Mandurah Campus.

Graduates will have the option to take up the Diploma of Beauty Therapy in conjuction with the Certificate IV qualification in Semester 2.  VET FEE HELP is available for the SHB50115 Diploma of Beauty Therapy.

This course can lead into dermal science, nursing, advanced cosmeceuticals and IPL trainining.

these fees apply to all qualifications - including apprenticeships and traineeships - except access and bridging courses. Please note that you may be eligible for a concession on tuition fees. Please contact the Institute for concession categories. 

Resource fees:

this fee covers the cost of materials and consumables provided by South Metropolitan TAFE. Resource fees vary depending on the content of the course. Some courses such as marine studies, fishing operations, horticulture and outdoor recreation, incur high resource fees.​​
